re-thinking my overlapping octagons

I've been having a little re-think about my 'RED' overlapping octagon blocks {see here for earlier details}. I decided to add in a few more red & white gingham squares along with a few other red & white fabrics. Hm-m-m it's blurring the lines a little, and I'm liking this so much better.

. . . until next time

Beautifully chosen scraps. I like the way you changed the corners, too. A lovely quilt.

You never know how it will look until you try. I have a quilt that needs sashing and I was thinking about red and white strips but I won't know if I like it until I start cutting and sewing. Your progress looks great and merry somehow. Not the holiday "merry" the cheerful merry.

You've made some great additions. I like the gingham and the white with random columns of red dots - they blur things just the right amount.

I like it! The blended effect changes everything in a very good way!

I really like this! The layout reminds me of the Uncommon and Unexpected quilt I am making. It isn't exactly the same, but close.

Like I shared on IG and/or your blog, I LOVE the various red squares. AND the mix of your other fabrics -- just wonderful.
