AHIQ (Ad Hoc Improv Quilters) began life as a monthly link-up, co-hosted by Ann of FretNotYourself and Kaja at SewSlowly. We had both been looking for a link-up that focused on improv quilting and when we couldn't find one, we decided to have a go at running one ourselves.
The link-up drew a group of consistent participants, working in all sorts of improv styles. People were generous in visiting each others blogs and there were many interesting discussions that evolved in the comments sections of our blogs. Eventually we decided to close the link-up and launch this blog as an alternative so that people could post when it felt right for them and their process rather than being tied to a specific date. We hope that it will be a place for you to share whatever improv you are working on, along with book reviews, exhibition reviews, and, in fact, any general thoughts on the subject of improvisational and modern utility quilting.
If you would like to contribute to the discussions on AHIQ, you can email either of us:
Kaja - sewslowly(at)gmail.com or Ann at abrooks1978(at)gmail.com and we will send you an invitation which allows you to post here.
As security concerns have grown, we now ask that all contributors update their own websites to https to keep malefactors from hacking links. Now sure how to do it? Ann wrote two posts: one here and an earlier post for Blogger. If you use another platform, check with your provider.
