AHIQ makes - finished and unfinished from Maureen aka Mystic Quilter

One finish only and that was with
the Chinese Coins Challenge

A Taste of the Orient

You can read the story behind  this piece

HERE

This one below is most definitely unfinished, doesn't even have a name and
in fact I've removed the border to have re-think.

The quilt in progress below is an out and out
utility quilt

Mardi Gras

There were other challenges of course from Kaja and Ann
but I wasn't able to participate, however I'm looking forward to
the post from Ann with a new challenge to begin this dedicated
blog for AHIQ. Thanks to both Kaja and Ann.

Your Chinese Coins is stunning and I really, really like the unnamed one too- I hope you are able to make some progress on it. I love the saturated colour and pattern of Mardi Gras too.

LOVE your colors - but you already know that. Here's to your being able to participate in this next challenge with mind, body, and spirit!

I'm looking forward to the challenge, too. I'm hoping to participate the right way.
How did you even come up with this quilt pattern? Brilliant is definitely the word to describe it. Fabulous design!

Thank you so much for all your comments.
Kaja - you have inspired me to work again on my unfinished piece - borders are back on and I'm playing with the next round.
Mary - re the Chinese Coins, I just didn't like the look of the rectangular bars side by side in their respective colour groupings and came up with the idea of dividing them on the diagonal and putting
two different colours together. Took me a couple of days to make a decision and ended up with this design.

You have such a great sense of color, Maureen, that makes looking at your quilts and progress such a joy. Chinese Coins is probably my favorite - just bursting with happy color plus an inventive twist on rectangular coins.
I made a more controlled handkerchief quilt but am inspired to make another now that I've looked at your scrappy one.
Thanks for joining this blog.
