Help Needed for my String Tulips

Hello! Thank you all for your kind comments on my first improv quilt. I am now quilting it and have completed the medallion, however I have no clue as how to do the string blocks. Would so appreciate your advice on how to proceed so I can finish it.  Here's the center done:

I've been thinking of maybe Baptist fans or diamonds. ???

I started that tulip block SAL, but gave up on it--I just could not get the colors right to my liking--BUT you certainly did--I just love it...
and the background is really a great choice--not too busy or bland either...just right! Great work hugs, Julierose

P.S. you might consider just outline quilting on those diagonal strips with a perle cotton? just a thought...more hugs, Julierose;)))

Boy, I'm no help because I'm not a machine quilter. But, an all over pattern will let the center of your quilt shine by enhancing it - not by being a distraction. I love the enlarged picture of the center tulips.

I'm not a machine quilter either but agree with Robin and Julierose, that you need something that doesn't distract from your lovely tulips. Sorry not to be more help!

I think both Baptist Fans or Diamonds would work. Nothing much shows on the string blocks and the many seams mean machine work is much easier than trying to hand quilt. I showed some photos of the design I used on one of my quilts on my other blog. This is quite lovely, Angie. I hope you finish it soon so we can all admire it.
