Hourglass quilt done?

I finished the red, yellow and gray hourglass top. It finished 40 1/2" x 51 1/2".
Why I might not consider it done is because when I was quilting it I didn't discover until after I began to put the binding on this piece of fabric that got quilted on the back!
I trimmed away as much fabric as I could and slashed between the rows of stitching. I will have to use a tweezers to pull the fabric threads out. Of course, it is batik fabric which will be harder to pull out. This fabric was a piece for a masks that got away from the pile.

I love how this has turned out. I particularly like your circles and the way the grey border sort of fades in and out.

Actually, I like that fabric piece right on the back--adds some whimsy and reminds us of how our brains are so spacey during this corona event;)))

This is wonderful! I especially like the hourglass units along 2 sides of the quilt. Perfect touch.:) Good luck getting the extra piece of fabric off the back! Did that one time and grimaced all the way through the effort!

I love that piece on the back, too! Seems it wanted to be part of the quilt!

Thanks for posting this wonderful quilt here, too, Patty. You have such an eye for design. Love all the elements, the unexpected colors, the matchstick quilting, and of course, the hourglasses on two sides. I'm becoming a big fan of off-center borders like this.

So sorry, but I cackled when I saw the back. Leave it! let it just TRY to become chenille!

I agree with QuiltGranma! That little scrap adds personality.
I think your border choice is very attractive.
Congratulations.

The border adds just the right accent - repeat of colors but just a hint.
