AdHocImprovQuilts will be a location for utility and improvisational quilts. We plan to post our invitations/challenges here, share our ideas, sketches, fabric pulls, sewing {and unsewing}, changes to the plan, quilting, thread choices, progress, and finished projects. We hope you will join in the fun, too.
Having a group blog allows everyone to post at our own pace and as we reach important milestones although Kaja and I plan to share posts here on the Fourth Tuesday, too.
See you soon!
Ann

Congratulations to you both on this new adventure, I’m looking forward to taking part with yourselves and all contributors.
I like this new format very much! Shall we each create introductory posts for our past AHIQ endeavors and then post at will going forward?
We think it will be easier to read more posts in one location and follow to the blog's authors. Wish we'd thought of this sooner, Maureen.
And Julie, what a great idea. We've created many quilts in the past few years. It would be lovely to reprise them here.
Excited to see what comes up!
Oh great idea, ladies! I've been trying to get back to AHIQ and my friends here, and this is a good inducement. In fact I've got something that is nearing completion that fits right in! Cheers from Sizzlewaggle!
Thanks, Maureen, Sue and Cindy, and I agree with Ann - great idea Julie!
Looking forward to this next phase in adhoc improv.! So glad both of you {Kaja and Ann} are continuing on with this particular adventure.:)
Thanks for the interesting format. I look forward to seeing what is happening here and maybe contribute myself.
AHIQ has always intrigued me, but I have not had time to plan just read along. Curious, what is an utility quilter?
I would say a utility quilter is someone who makes quilts that are intended for everyday use - their quilts might be scrappy, or use recycled fabrics, though not necessarily.
So Excited....cannot figure out how to get the button on my blog...but will carry on....posting now...xo
Hi to all on AHIQ. Thank you for the invitation to join this group. I have been watching and admiring the beautiful improv quilts that Ann and Kaja have been making. I have been working and learning about adapting my quilting into improv clothing in the form of upcycling.
But quilts have been a large part of my life for soooo long, quilts will always be on the menu. Thank you for the invitation to this wonderful group. I am honoured to be invited!

Hi everyone. I would like to join this group. I am just starting to use my scraps more that yardage.
Fabric is getting so expensive and I have more fabric than I can ever use.
