Chinese Coins
Two Blocks
This next quilt wasn't for a challenge, but was the next one I made and was directly influenced by these first two. This time I played around with hourglass blocks and HSTs.
Last but not least, The Shipping Forecast, made for the Words on Quilts challenge.

I like seeing your challenge quilts back to back. The shipping forecast is my favorite. Even though I wasn't around for the Chinese coin quilt, I think there is one in my future for sure. Thanks for sharing...
I am really liking this new blog format -- so good to see these summary posts of where we've been up to this point! Kaja - I LOVE The Shipping Forecast!
It's great to see your quilts lined up like this. All so different and yet very YOU! I'd say 2017 was a very good year for you.:)
Thanks, Robin,Julie & Audrey! Julie - you really started something with those lighthouses. Audrey - I think it was a good year, though this year everything has slowed right down.
Shipping Forecast is my favorite, too. But they are all wonderful. I don't know the reason, but I don't remember the HSTs/hourglass quilt so much. I wonder why since I try to visit regularly.
Loving this blog format, too.
I like the softness of your improv quilts
So good to see all your AHIQ quilts here in the one post. I've enjoyed watching your progress with all of them but have a special fondness for The Shipping Forecast. Good idea to show our quilts made for the challenges - mine are woefully lacking but I shall put up a little post in the next day or so.
Like everyone I do enjoy The Shipping News, especially the words you printed on it. Looking at all of these together I am struck by the softness of your colors. They are such useable quilts - fitting it with quiet surprises and details.
I like the overall softness of your hourglass quilt, the strong linear strips that keep it from becoming bland, and the definite border. (Always love border.)
Then the way your Chinese Coins change directions and those added pinwheels. Such fun.
